W.3 Construct a narrative in the form of a short story

Using imagery, engaging details and language, and dialogue.

Homework:  

1. Rough draft short story due Monday, May 7.

Agenda:

1. Calendar/Agenda (2 min)- Move to library
2. Time to work on short story (20 min silent work time)
3. Writing into the room- (10 min for both parts)
Part I: Summary narration using your short stories.

Find an area of transition- characters moving from place to place, or time jumps/compressed time and write your summary narration.

Writing into the room- Part II: Scenic narration using your short stories.

Find an area of you want to expand- characters thinking, observing the world, or where you as a writer are creating imagery or using figurative language and write your scenic narration

3. Continue writing your short story (Finck w/ be conferencing).
